Big Blue’s Norwegian-Dutch Co Production Dome 16 will launch August 1st on NPOstart.
Norway, sometime in the future. Anton and Emma are both sixteen and live in the same city, but in different climate zones. They were never supposed to meet, and certainly not fall in love. But when they do, they must turn both of their worlds upside down to be together.
Out of The Netherlands we worked closely on a very large part of the visual effects; created by the very talented Albert van Vuure and Dustin Kershaw at Planet X and Luuk Meijer and Dennis van Heeswijk from Lads Visuals. We are thrilled to show the amazing results of bringing the futuristic world full of Domes, self-driving vehicles and speed trains to life.
Dome 16 is written and directed by Thomas Seeberg Torjussen. Thomas is known for his hit-serie Zombielars, which was an award winner at the prestigious Rose d’or. The main producer is the Norwegian production company Torden Film with Eric Vogel and Ingunn Sundelin producing and Big Blue with Fleur Winters as coproducer. International distribution is represented by Global Screen.
Sci-fi meets Romeo & Juliet for a 12+ audience, Dome 16 is a unique project that had its international premiere at the Berlinale this spring.
Dome 16 has been created in collaboration with the NRK in Norway and BNNVARA in the Netherlands. The series received support from the Norwegian Film Institute and the Netherlands Filmfund.
Quote Fleur Winters: “it is unique that such an ambitious high-end series project dealing with the consequences of climate change for the 12+ target audience was produced and will now be seen by audiences all over the world. We are extremely grateful for the great partnership with Torden Film, the enormous talent of Thomas Seeberg Torjussen and all crew including Dutch companies Planet X and Lads Visuals and of course the local support by our partner BNNVARA and the Netherlands Filmfund. Let’s create more European quality productions!”
Watch all the ten episodes of Dome 16 from August 1st at NPOstart.
